[Other] Riku has minor issues with the light ever since he came back to being in his true physical form. He keeps his blindfold with him at all times in case the light overcomes his eyes and blinds him. These episodes can cause him to black out or pass out and wake with a throbbing headache. He also has a permanent limp from and old battle wound.



[Personality] Riku is a strange mix as far as his personality goes. Ranging from selfish to selfless. He has run through the gambit of emotions over the past few years. Riku started his adventures with the most noble of intentions. Wanting to show Sora and Kairi a good time, to learn more about were Kairi came from. Near the start of his adventure is confident, strong, abet a little cocky. Cool calm and collected. He knows what he wants and he does what he must to get the job done. Envy over Sora and Kairi's increasing closeness, Madness and selfishness the desire to get when he wanted most prompted him to fall into darkness. His selfish do anything ways made him weak to the darkness as did his insatiable desire to have adventure and explore the other worlds. Later he becomes most selfless seeking atone for his past misdeeds and mistakes.

Over all after all is said and done Riku has matured allot however he has his moments of self doubt and depression. He aimlessly wanders the streets seeking out his absolution for his sins. He can be stubborn when it comes to his own wounds and his own needs. Riku tends to place others above himself when it comes to almost everything He also has trouble admitting when he is wrong.

Once he has harsh of ill feelings for someone that truly goes out of their way to offend him he holds tight to those feelings til they can prove him wrong. If someone crosses him or harms one of his friends Riku can become a very quick enemy and a very formidable foe.

[History] Riku, the cool suave teen from Destiny Islands, lived a life in paradise with his friend Sora. As all children do, the two youngsters competed at everything. They were, what one would call, friendly rivals. And one day their word grew. A little crimson haired girl by the name of Kairi washed up on the Islands. The duo was now a trio Kairi was included in all their adventures.

As time passed and the trio entered their teens, tension grew as did the silver haired boy's desire to learn more about the world Kairi came from since she could not remember. Sora and Riku's rivalry intensified because now there were more adult feelings involved. Each boy harboring a crush for the pretty little red head.

Late one evening, the plan was born as the sun set. The trio would build a raft and set sail to find where Kairi came from to seek adventure and to broaden their horizons. Riku and Sora worked on the raft, Riku putting in added time to the project after the other two were soundly sleeping. The night before they were to take it out, their world was turned upside down. A dark storm came and the silver haired boy found he was drawn under that storm, looking up into the swirling abyss as it whipped up huge waves and tussled his hair.

Sora found him like this, transfixed by the storm. He tried to get Riku to leave, to him find Kairi but he didn't ,couldn't go. The darkness was calling. The door was open. They could travel, they could explore, all they had to do was show no fear and they were free of that prison. When Riku woke he was in a strange place, a hollowed out and gutted castle aptly named Hollow Bastion. The witch found him there, Maleficent, and she coaxed Riku into helping her luring him with promises of finding his friends.

When he did at last find Sora again, He had new friends and seemed happy with them and more than willing to forget about Riku and Kairi. That was when Riku's heart cracked and that first bit of hate and darkness came to dwell inside. Sora didn't need him anymore... Sora didn't care about him or Kairi. If that was how it was then fine. He'd ask Maleficent to help him find Kairi.

All he had to do was help her kidnap these girls, these princesses of heart. He didn't care about them it was none of his business. Just a task that stood in his way of finding and saving Kairi. He did as he was bidden, using the power she was given freely. The whole time, his heart hardening towards Sora. Riku found Kairi, but sadly the redhead was without her heart, having lost it. Riku clashed with Sora many times in the final conflict. Riku was no longer Riku, but revealed himself to be one known as "Ansem" the seeker of darkness…

Riku later appeared as a glowing spirit-like version of himself protecting Kairi from Ansem, proclaiming he would not be used for whatever the older man had in mind. In the end Riku was closed behind the doors of Kingdom Hearts so that he could make up for what he'd done. As the doors closed on him, locking him in darkness, his last words to Sora were for him to take care of Kairi.

When Riku woke, finding a way out of the darkness, he found himself lying on a cold stone floor in a basement of a castle Riku found and made his way up the floors, reliving his own personal hell, facing the darkness, enduring taunts from "Ansem", facing a clone of him and even people he'd never met or heard of. When he reached the top he found the memory witch Namine there, as well as Sora.

Namine offered to lock "Ansem" away but Riku knew he had to face him. Alone, even against King Mickey’s wishes. He did and "Ansem was defeated. As Riku left the castle he encountered a man in crimson and bandages. This man was DiZ. He asked Riku which oath he was taking to which Riku said he was talking the way to dawn.

Riku came be in Twilight Town working under DiZ's orders. Once there, he fought Roxas twice. Being defeated the first time, he ended up relying and falling back into darkness to defeat the duel wielder. When Roxas is defeated DiZ and Namine put him into a computerized world so that they could waken him and Sora. Riku, having used the darkness, took on the outward appearance of Xehanort/ "Ansem" he wore the blindfold because the only thing that remained his own, were his eyes.

Throughout Sora's second journey Riku silently and anonymously helped him along the way, leaving him clues and even going so far as to protect Roxas as well. When Kairi was taken as a captive by the Thirteen in an effort to get to Sora, Riku and Namine freed her and Riku gave her a key blade and fought at her side.

It was Kairi who told Sora who he was and forced him to see beyond the outward appearance, teaching him to see with his heart, not his eyes. The old friends got to meet DiZ and Mickey and there was an explosion that forced Riku back into his true form, albeit he looked older than his seventeen years. Riku and Sora came together to fight in the final conflict with Xemnas. Riku jumped in and protected Sora with his body, taking a painful wound to the side. The two found themselves in the depths of Kingdom Hearts, on a dark, moonlit beach. The two shared a heartfelt conversation. Not long after, the Silver haired youth found Kairi's message in the bottle for Sora. A glowing door opened, the two of them standing before the door for a moment before they ventured forth together....

That was the last memory Riku had prior to waking up in a strange place.
